The team traveled to Worcester, MA to test our prototype robot at the practice field hosted by Team 190 at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). Access to this field gives our drive team the closest possible simulation of how the robot will behave on an official FRC field.
The morning started with a challenge: the drivetrain refused to power up. After tracing wiring and checking connections, the team discovered a loose fuse on the power distribution hub. Once that was resolved, a more serious issue appeared; our robot’s CAN bus began malfunctioning. The team dug in, disassembled key sections of the robot, and eventually uncovered the culprit: a pinched wire hidden beneath the conveyor belt. I am proud to say that the team really stepped up and worked through the frustration to solve the problem. They regrouped after all of these problems (and food from Chipotle) to press on and get work done.
Once the robot was functional the team tested our shooter near the trench…
After Testing the shooter the team tested driving over the bump with “fuel” strategically place to simulate if the robot lands on top of the balls. The robot went for a bit of a ride!
Once we completed all of our testing we did some drive practice.
After a long day the team wrapped up at around 8PM to head home. Great job Team!
